Cross-country caters for all ages and abilities!
Often regarded as the purest form of running, cross-country running involves running over long distances through the countryside, rather than on road or track. The cross-country season occurs during the cooler months of autumn and winter. Many of top runners have honed their skills on the muddy, wet terrain that makes cross-country running so popular.
Some of the benefits of cross-country running include improved running technique, helping build stamina and endurance, reducing the risk of injuries due to the softer ground, and fostering a healthy sense of camaraderie amongst runners whilst connecting to nature and enjoying the beauty of natural surroundings. Cross country caters for all ages and abilities and the distances typically range from 2km to 10km.
Celtic Harriers has a proud tradition of participating in and winning cross-country titles since the club was formed in 1906. The club encourages its members to participate in the various cross-country events which are already in full swing.
